ere are the four main educational tools used by this method :
- The guitar tuner (not a chromatic tuner) :

t is the indispensable companion for work and assimilate the best intonation. Its regular use allows to work fingerings "Foundations of the intonation" on 4 strings, with exercises that follow the technical and musical progression of volumes 1 and 2 of "J'apprends le Violon". The tuner is placed on the stand at the beginning of session for tune the violin and then stays on during the session to learn the fingerings on the basic intonation (1st and 3rd fingers on the D and A strings) and educate the ear with an interactive and intuitive way. It allows regular work of the exercises "step of the intonation" in a form of technicals themes.
I recommend the models "GA1" (Internet) or "GA40" (music store) of the mark KORG.
he exercises are short but must be repeated many times at the beginning of each session, but also before and during each song. A work on posture may also be performed in parallel to the intonation because this tool facilitates the relaxation by increasing trust. Exercises with the tuner are indeed also designed to work basic technique in parallel to the intonation. The use of the tuner is abandoned in a natural way at the end of Volume 2.

- The charts and fingering schemas :
s the tuner, they are temporary tools to help but not a substitute for music theory. Many exercises are provided in Volume 2 to facilitate a smooth transition to the classical music theory. These aids are then dropped in a natural way in Volume 3, with more detailed exercises and other educational concepts to combine meticulous technical work and fun to play beautiful tunes on violin.
- The "musical theorie / violin" :
his method has the continuing effort to link the solfège and the instrument, but also to help to understand that musical theorie can be a useful and interesting matter.
- The tunes :
hey were chosen depending on the technical progress and are most often invisible role of exercise. The major styles of violin music (classical, Irish, world music, jazz) are chosen over the progress as technical tools to improve the mastery of the instrument over the progress of the student :
- The world music and classical melodies most simple to learn and understand the basic technique of the violin and the positions changes:
- 1st position in volumes 1 et 2 of "J'apprends le violon".
- 3rd, 2nd et 5th positions in the volume A of "Jouer du violon avec Playbacks".
- "Le violon irlandais" for the work of the right hand (relaxation, fluidity, swing).
- "J'apprends le violon JAZZ" for the work of the ear and the left hand.
